Martha Bernays (26 July 1861 – 2 November 1951) was the wife of Austrian psychoanalyst Sigmund Freud.

Sigmund Freud did give cocaine to his future wife, Martha Bernays. In the 1880s, long before he developed psychoanalysis, Freud became fascinated with cocaine. He viewed it as a safe "miracle drug" capable of curing everything from fatigue to depression.
