Phil and Joe Niekro hold the Major League Baseball record for the most combined career wins by brothers, amassing 539 victories. Both were masterful practitioners of the mystical, erratic knuckleball, which they learned from their father.Phil NiekroNicknamed "Knucksie," Phil was a five-time All-Star, a five-time Gold Glove Award winner, and a 1997 inductee into the National Baseball Hall of Fame. He is the all-time leader in MLB history for the most wins after the age of 40 (121) and famously threw his 300th career win as a 46-year-old.Legacy: Played 21 of his 24 seasons primarily with the Atlanta Braves, retiring at age 48. Younger brother Joe was a durable starter, a 1979 All-Star, and a key piece for the Houston Astros, where he still holds the franchise record for career wins.Career Record: 221-204, 3.59 ERA, 1,747 strikeouts.Notable Achievements: In 1979, Joe and Phil tied as National League co-leaders in wins, each earning 21 victories on the very same day (September 30).Legacy: Passed away in 2006 at the age of 61, survived by his son Lance, who also played in the majors, and a large baseball legacy.
