William Burroughs

Junkie (1953) is William S. Burroughs' first published novel, a semi-autobiographical account of drug addiction, following the protagonist "William Lee" through his struggles with morphine and heroin, based on Burroughs' own experiences and published under the pseudonym William Lee. It's a key work of the Beat Generation, known for its raw, unflinching look at addiction, and was initially published as an Ace Double paperback.
