The Continental Divide?

Jack Torrance vs. Toussaint Charbonneau

Fur trader and explorer Toussaint Charbonneau had a total of five known wives, all of whom were young Native American women. While two of his wives are documented in the records of the Lewis and Clark expedition, historians note that he had others: Sacagawea was the most famous of his wives, she accompanied him on the Corps of Discovery expedition and is celebrated for her role as an interpreter. Otter Woman, was his other wife during the Lewis and Clark era. Unlike Sacagawea, she did not accompany the expedition up the Missouri River. Historical documents and oral histories record that he married three additional Native American women over the course of his life, with his last known wife being a 14-year-old Assiniboine girl he married in 1837 when he was over 70 years old.
